Schlosshotel Münchhausen

Guests are greeted with a luxurious flair at the Schlosshotel Münchhausen, which is situated right in the middle of the Weser Hills and close by the Pied Piper city of Hamelin.

The Renaissance castle is today a 5 star superior hotel and surrounded by 8 hectares of unique parkland. The former knight’s castle was built in the 16^th century and lovingly restored in 2004. A childhood dream fulfilled, the property is still privately owned and managed.

Behind the 450 years old castle walls guests will find many wonderful and enchanting details. In total 68 luxurious suites and rooms both, in the castle and in the historical-modern Tithe barn are furnished with love and care.

The wide range of creative dishes from the gastronomy spoil the guest with culinary delights. The restaurant Schlosskeller with its lake terrace offers an International Menu with a distinct regional influence, in an enchanting setting. The Gourmet-Restaurant, awarded a Michelin Star constantly over 20 years, is led by the renowned Chef Achim Schwekendiek and simply outstanding.

Special culinary events are organized from time to time. Enjoy the “Candlelight Buffet”, set in a romantic atmosphere or experience the tension of a “Krimi Dinner”. Gourmets will be thrilled with the range of gourmet events and even music dinners find a special place at Münchhausen, such as “A Tribute to Abba” or “A Tribute to Elvis”. Even opera lovers are not forgotten and will enjoy the “Pasta Opera” performance.

After an exhausting day guests can relax in the 800 m² airy and luxurious wellness area, featuring an 18 m pool, sauna, steam bath and relaxing quiet areas. Day guests are also very welcome.

In addition to the Seven Castles the region offers a wide variety of culture and opportunities. A visit to the old town of Hamelin with its 16^th century traditional architecture is a must. The extraordinary green region and nature parks of the Weser Hills Schaumburg-Hamelin is ideal for hiking, cycling or simply touring. Golfers of every skill are catered for by the two golf courses of the Hamelner Golf Club adjoining the hotel. The 18 hole championship course and an 18 hole academy short course await you.

For events, conferences and seminars some 12 different function rooms for up to 300 people offer an inspirational atmosphere.
